Patchwork design sheet
Another day feeling weary, partly because I woke up in the early hours intending to go back to bed but never did. I got enthused making some patchwork quilt hexagons, and before I knew it daylight had sprung. I've not made a patchwork quilt before. Historically my sewing skills have been mainly by hand using felt.... oh and more recently cushion covers. I did attempt to make a dress the year before last, but realised that it would never have fit me as I'd bought a US pattern thinking that their sizes matched ours, which alas they didn't. Not to be deterred I decided to use the rest of the material for trousers, but again they were too small. So I made the worlds most expensive hair scrunchy! :)
Finished off the cushion covers for a client and mastered the sewing machine when cotton gets stuck in the bobbin area.
Went to some pre-loved stores with Taff for inspiration and bought some more material for the patchwork quilt. Bumped into an artist-friend (Mandy). We love seeing Mandy, she's always full of fun and smiles, oozing with ideas http://www.mandywebb43.com/
Going back to patchworking.... luckily as we've got MS Publisher I was able to copy and paste 2,500 or so hexagons onto a worksheet and print it off so that I can hand draw my designs. I'm sure patchwork paper exists somewhere, but I love a challenge and couldn't be bothered searching for something that may not exist. The patchwork quilt I'll probably donate and/or put up for auction for charity. That's assuming it will look any good. I think it will though, I have great expectations.
Intended not to have alcohol but ran out of Elderflower Pressee. However, I did drink half my normal consumption which has got to be a good thing.
